Had to switch 5:13 a.m. to 5:32 for the basic reason
that I couldn’t get to bed early enough last night…. It seems Universe is getting bored with my
love life, too. <grin> For the second
morning, the smell of wildfire smoke was apparent, yet now I know why. I heard the planes flying overhead, too. I
wish I could access the calfire site, but for whatever reason, it hasn’t been
connecting. I’ll have to keep FB on my
phone just a little bit longer (it’s my only way of getting local news).
I forgot to mention, in the rush of everything
that has been occurring, that I met my new neighbor yesterday. He walked up and we started talking. Again – as with Amber (he knows their
family), so many similarities. Poor guy –
after he told me his stuff, he asked about me, so within 5 minutes, words like “vaginas”
and “pornography” are being discussed. I
really need to rope it in a little
bit. I wonder if I scare men??? <wink>
The Best Thing about this morning was that
there were wrinkles in my clothing between my breasts, which means shrinkage. That’s such a good feeling (for me). Big boobs just get in the way.
Long day at work…I feel like I’m coming down
with something as many of the students are dropping off like flies. Must.Stay.Strong <gasssssppppp> Kids had after-school stuff, so I headed to go
pick up Ethan’s glue sticks (for firecrackers) and a rake. Saw a strike team and talked to the captain
there. Fire has more than doubled –
already the dame number of crew and twice as large as Sand Fire, and it’s 5%
contained at last count. Dammit, Jill. I
shoulda gone your direction. Maybe I
could counsel them??? <trying to find
a way…any way> Kids and I headed home
after store trip to make meals for our grieving family friends. Ethan said his friend had fun with us
yesterday and that’s the best thing.
Bad news about practicum site and stipend…seems
there may not be room for me, after all.
I’m checking out other places because I do not get enough hours at work. At this rate I really will be in my 60s before
my hours are completed. The trick is
getting out of this county. I may have
to commute, but…at least I could finish up.
<Wondering why I didn’t go into floral design> <that was
sarcasm>
Pictures: A shot of the King Fire this afternoon, only this picture doesn't do the magnitude of the fire any justice; meal-making station: all three of us working together as a tribe under the watchful eye of Inuit Dude.
