March 17, 2015

A night of Sleep helps situations, and despite only getting about 6 hours and waking 4 times (according  to my FitBit), I noticed I was in a much better mood than yesterday. This is a good thing.  The morning was fun with the kids – Band of Horses was my start off music, but it didn’t feel right until Mags put on Mother Hips “Desert Song” (Chronicle Man).  That was what I needed.

To make the story short and save time, I will simply say wow.  I was somewhat shocked, yet not really surprised.  I am also grateful for unions and reps with whom I have a good relationship.

Gratefully, there is an end to the day. I picked up my kids and enjoyed teaching a lesson about “life,” about following protocol, about other important things.  It was a nice ride home.   Then I quickly grabbed my stuff for supervision, lost my keys, found my keys (thanks, Mags) and headed off.

Supervision began with some processing and bonding with my group facilitator and supervisor.  I appreciate laughter and people who understand.  After supervision, I was able to learn that I can also  help out with the AOD class.  While I’m not certified in AOD, it is a part of me, so maybe I’ll add that later on down the road, though we also mentioned going to Mexico for a summer to learn Spanish.

At home, the kids and I munched on a not-so-great carnitas tacos while Ethan, worked on repairing my light.  After I made my "Until Summer" calendar,  I looked at areas for our “real vacation”, which I promised them long ago.  I don’t just want to go to a resort where we sit on the beach or swim, I found an ecological preserve in Nicaragua… until I saw the cost and realized AAA may have some much better deals.  It has been since Mexico with my dad 5-6 years ago since my kids have been to a “fancy” place…but I don’t want to go broke doing this.

Pictures:  Mabi poses; Ethan doing "fixin' " stuff; My calendar.  This is happening in my life so that I can learn something.  I know this, but it doesn't make it any easier.  270 more hours.  That's not so bad, right?
