June 17, 2015

The sucky thing about sleeping with the windows open in the summer is the warmer air being blown in by the fan.  That was what woke me.  There were so many Things To Do and I just couldn’t do a damn thing.  A friend wrote that the great thing about working half days is it forced her to get up and then she was able to accomplish a great deal after work.  I get it; unless it’s that rare LET’S KICK SOME ASS day, I’m Type B all the way.

I heard the UPS bus drive up from my work station (bed), so I stopped work (reading FB) and said, “It’s HERE!” to my colleagues (dogs).  The Grateful Dead ticket had arrived.  I put on my jeans and sassy red bra (A shirt?  Hell no, talk about overkill), then opened the door just enough to see the envelope sitting on the chair – I raced back to my work station (already established) and opened it up.  THERE IT WAS!  Being the modern woman I am, I took snapshots and Pic-stitched them together to post – then I noticed the dancing bears and had to take a picture of them.  I didn’t even notice the barcode.  Fortunately a friend of mine did and so I deleted the pics later.  I need to be more conscious of technology –not just in the good (sharing pics), but also the bad (forging tickets to certain Fare Thee Well GD shows – or any, for that matter).

Despite my two hour one-on-one supervision yesterday, there was group today and I love group supervision.  Talk about learning opportunities…these people bring different experiences situations, ideas into the picture, which I love.  After group I went right to my next group for an hour and a half, then I learned that there is more to the computerization of records than I thought and again my passwords didn’t work (this has been an ongoing theme).  My question to the universe it this:  I understand I need to learn, but WHY  are there always such difficulties (to the extent of many computer professionals telling me they have never witnessed this <problem of the day> before).

Soon, it was time for last group – the late, long group, but it is enjoyable with new parents each time it is offered.  I have learned a few things – such as I need to tone down my attitude <no mention of vaginas, but still maybe a little much for some folks>.  I don’t see myself as too much and feel I keep myself in check, but then I’m not very conservative, either.  It’s about Balance – that mysterious lady I’ve sought for so long.  My sister texted me as I was there, prepping, and it was so good to be in touch with her.  My niece and nephew are growing up too fast and now they’re even further away.   I think a road trip to North Carolina is off, since Lizzie struggled with Calpine, but man…I’d love to see her again.

Heading home, I pull in as a funny shaped “cat” weebled (new word!) quickly into my driveway.  Ohhellno – not this.  The dogs started barking as the skunk headed towards the gate and so I quickly shut of the car and ran inside, bolting through the dark house to open the dog door before they irritated their new “friend” (which Mabi did twice within a matter of weeks last year).  Fortunately all was good and no defenses were triggered.  I unleashed my caged body parts and prepared for a new day.  I am determined to get this house going( I suck at cleaning – I go in circles) The kids will be back in about 10 days, I think.  Not enough time.

Pictures:  Since I'm clearly not capable of printing pics of tickets - here is the Stub Hub receipt from my GD ticket; Group - candy or chocolate?; I asked a friend yesterday how to incorporate more Turmeric into my diet - the Universe answered: the last ingredient on the lemon cakes I bought for group.  BAM!
