Had an early-ish appointment this morning, but I was up in
the late 4s hour, so around 5:37, I got up.
Why beat around the bush, right? I did a
few things I was supposed to do and then did yoga, naked, because... walk all
the way back there to put on my yoga
ensemble? This house is too big and I’m
not sure I like that. Almost 2,000
square feet with a sunken living room. I
grew up in a really big house: 3,600 sq
ft and then close to 6K after the addition?
If you count the cabana, I guess.
Beautiful, beautiful house. Jana
told me they (the folks who bought it) haven’t changed a thing – it’s still the same as when they bought
it almost 15 years ago.
I had supervision then closed with one of my first clients
today – interesting how all that has ended, which is all I will say. And then…I had several more hours until my
next client, so I busied myself on re-auths and other fun fancy work. I like working here, no, I LOVE working
here. I know that people get annoyed and
there is stress and tension, coupled with ALL sorts of emotion due to the population
we work with, but holy hell what a fantastic group of colleagues I have. And then…
Carrie & Marcia came in and said they were leaving. “Who would be so cruel as to leave this pie cover on my desk?” I said, flipping away a clear plastic cover. “Isn’t that from your nachos yesterday?” asked Marcia. STOP. GASP. “Ooooohhh my god, how can I be so cruel to myself?” I moaned as I looked in my wallet for cash (there was none). “I’ll get ya, Ali” said Sweet Carrie. Oh my goodness…25 minutes later I was completely ignoring the salad I had brought myself and was enjoying Almost-Pure-Perfection. Shit, I miss La Bodega. AND WHO THE FUCK EATS SALAD FOR LUNCH????
The next few hours were spent doing paperwork, ordering my
damn diploma (I hate my school’s website, but man, it was good to talk to those
folks again) and looking how I will reorganize my schedule to accommodate juvenile
hall, clients, and my life. For example…how will I get my kids to our house after school and still be back
at juvie to see the kids. I’ll have to
do some major planning in the next few
weeks. I also found out my Kylee is moving to Colorado, Grand Junction, to be specific. Oh, my goodness, how I will miss that lady and her ever-emerging bundle of joy. Kylee was the one who painted the color room codes on the door frames with me so we could learn which rooms where which. She is the one I sing songs to (well, I sing to everyone, but especially Kylee). I told her maybe if CH and NC don't work out, I'd move to CO. It's near Moab!! Sigh...I'll miss her
Last client, which was a doozy, then an hour of paperwork,
phone and planning for the SF field trip the first part of next week. It’s been dark every day when I get home and
those poor dogs are just miserable, so I prepped the glow ball and spent half
an hour throwing it off the deck (which gives Mabi a terrific work out). Dinner, some Office and another fire. Tomorrow after Ethan’s game, I’ll go pick up
some real wood at Shelley’s. I wonder if
it’ll even burn in this little oven, but as long as I leave the door open it
work well. Suits me fine, too, since I like
to see the fire. Life doesn’t always go according
to plan. I figure as long as you have an
extinguisher prepared, you’re good to go.
Pictures: The Nature outside where we get phone reception. I had to call about my mail and then also about my hair appointment. Seems I'll be in SF instead of getting my hair did, so I have to reschedule with Nicole; Cookies Dara or Maren left for me; My Mabi and her glow-ball.
