Last night, I set my alarm for half an hour earlier, and still woke up 20 minutes before it went off.  You people don’t get it…I am a NIGHT OWL.  This shouldn’t be happening, but I love my connection with my internal alarm clock.  Fall is slowly introducing herself: there exist gentle attempts at brisk chills in the morning, which are simply delightful to me.    I weighed myself this morning...one pound off, Traci!!  So maybe the justifications and excuses I created last night will have to wait a bit longer.  I cheated a bit, though, I made coffee for this morning.  I drink it black, so the caloric intake is negligible, I’m simply in it for the energy.  ICT nearly killed me yesterday and I need all the help I can get to keep my head from exploding.

What a difference a day makes..I was bright and alert today, I even dresscoded a kid who consistently insists on wearing his jeans below his ass.  Today the line was drawn, however, as he wore a very offensive shirt which talked read “Kill ----, Rape ----“  Uhmmm..no way.  You may get away with stuff that would no one else does, but not something like this.  I was immensely surprised when I had no fatigue <get this>  EVEN during ICT.  “This girl <pointing at self> is on fiyah!!!”

After work, I headed to the grocers to buy produce, then headed home and got right to homework.  Here is what blew my mind:  I checked FB and THEN I GOT OFF!  What's more, I did homework and <sit the hell down fer this news flash> I FINISHED IT LIKE THAT!  <snap>  Within an hour and a half, I was done.  I haven’t had a clear head like this in as long as I can remember and I’m thrilled.

Decided to take the pups to the park, since they have been neglected the last couple days.  There was a young buck, with his velvet covered antlers, surveying the land.  He was watching us and didn’t run off when he saw the pups, so I hit a ball in that vicinity and he began his pouncy exit.  Mabi did something she’s NEVER done before and ran after him, with Annie on her tail (or stub).  As soon as I called Mabi, she returned, but Annie The Untrained continued on.  I called her  once, then praised Mabi for retuning and I could see Annie on her way back, no buck in her jowl.  So much for making her a hunting dog.  She is a cute puppy, though.  I had Mabi sit and stay as I hit the ball, yet Annie took off after that ball, running for dear life.  Suddenly she stopped, confused as to why Mabi wasn’t doing her job.  She saw Mabi sitting and raaannnn back to her, all smiles.  I released Mabes then (said “go get it”), so they both took off.  It’s the little things.

Decided to do some yoga, since it was till so early, when my son granted my request to call me.  Me “How was your first day in Sequoia?”
E “It was…uhh...ok.  Very…….complicated”
Me “Yeah? Was it the different schedule? The kids?  Mr. T?”
 <silence>
Me “Who’s in your class?”
E “Donovan..…and a lot of other kids”
Me “So you had a class meeting, and then probably figured out class policy and such…”
E “It was…very……...complicated”
And somehow, it wasn’t until this conversation <or lack thereof> that I realized my little sweet pea, who was a kindergartner just across the way in Cedar class had made it all the way around this academic board of “Chutes and Ladders” and was in now the final stretch of the game in Sequoia for 7th and 8th.  Where have I been???
