It would seem there was an earthquake somewhere in the
vicinity, but of course my bed wasn't rocking... This is ME were talking about.
<grin> Many thanks to the 2 guys who checked in on me.
Up and outside within a decent amount of time.
I got a bit done before I woke the children, who soon joined me, though
without as much excitement as I possessed.
I was smarter this time, however, and brought my jawbone speaker so we could rock ‘n
roll as we dug ‘n moved. Maggie and I performed
frequently, using the shovels as microphone stands, but the highlight was
during Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” as we all danced in the yard.

Neighbor Steve brought over some homemade kefir water which
was such a refreshing treat.
We loved it
and are excited to learn how to make it ourselves.
We kept working, dancing & singing.
It was a hot day, but we kept at it.
Finally, at three, we were as done as we were
going to be, so we headed <very slowly for me as my muscles were ignoring me again> to Tom’s Burger and Frosty.
We sat outdoors and ate gratefully.

Off to Front Yard Nursery!!!
The kids grabbed a cart and we (I, because
they were preoccupied with the cart) selected 12 plants which were
bee-butterfly friendly and used little water.
The gentleman working at Front Yard complimented me on how well behaved my kids
were; he said he saw a lot of kids there and
it was obvious they were kind, listened well
and respected other people.
I’m not sure
how he got all this from seeing my kids for 45 minutes, but it was a joy to
hear.
We headed home and got out the
spray paint to mark the path.
I’ll order
(free) mulch from the city soon, and see about borrowing a truck to get some
pebbles/dg/and sand from the landscaping store.
After we planted (Ethan and I went to HD to
get 2 bags of compost..I couldn’t lift the bags of small river rocks I wanted
for the labyrinth ), we set our the owl, the hedgehogs, the crystal heart and
other things which we have collected.
It
will take some time before it is completed, but we did most of the work.
Ethan will come over next weekend and we’ll
do more.
Showers and more warmed baguettes and European cheeses as
we watched two episodes of Doctor. Who.
Ethan has three more until he is caught up, so we decided to watch the
rest of them before watching what the new episode Sean sent us. He wants to get caught up on the mysterious
Clara Oswald. <smile> What a
glorious weekend with my kids. They worked
very hard and are able to see a beautiful result. Wish this work had been in a house we owned. All in good time.
Pictures: The before shot..and the after shot. As usual, I had a fancy little Pic Stitch composition ready to load, with both shots combined, but I can't seem to get it uploaded into Blogger. Of course I can't.
