October 26, 2014

Last night, I wore an old robe of my father’s and had dreams of him all night long.  I was heartbroken.  Today is the 4th anniversary of his death, something I knew was coming up, but wasn’t aware of until I thought about the dreams this morning.  That glorious subconscious.  Even in death, he is with me and I hear his voice and feel his Spirit, and…I slept like the dead….
heartbroken.

As soon as I got in the car, KNBR started right up and my spirits perked up immensely.  Another day of music, friends and the game?  Hell, yes!  I got to the camp site and they had moved chairs down into the sun.  It wasn't too long until we were all on Nikki's sofa, handing off my phone to whoever walked by for pictures.  Great fun.

Scott Pemberton Trio (there's actually 4 of them) was up 1:45 and did not disappoint, as usual.  I love the messages in his songs, too, added with his own style.  "It's like Ween meets Hendrix, but completely original" (Boise Weekly), which is true.  SP3 is unforgettable.

After this, I heard some amazing Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, another incredible local-ish band, but I couldn't stay for all if it because I needed to get to moe for a little but before first pitch.  Headed in to the game, after a search for the umbrella I had left in the building for yesterday’s rained-out show.  It’s a special umbrella – the one the kids and I got in Zurich at Globus during a surprise rain shower. WHY do I bring things of emotional value with me <of course, just about everything has emotional value to me….  The fact that I’m not a hoarder is a tremendous relief.  I think I’m a bi-polar hoarder, bc I also have my “pitch it moments.”  Interesting, another aspect for me to analyze.>  The game was terrific, and despite the early lead, it was still quite tense for me.  I proudly wore my Stealie Giants hoodie   (“Steal Your Base”) which I purchased at one of the stands.  Nice.  At one point we were chanting “Let’s go, Giants!” and on the third round, I was the only voice, so it was more “LETS GO!!!  giants..<quietly>   They totally dropped me!  Victoria also gave me a Giants koozy for my sodas/NA beers.  Then John brought me my umbrella!! YAY!!

Towards the end of the game, we began the Grateful Dead dancing  <GD was filtered in during commercials>   It was a lot of fun and the perfect ending to the weekend.
