The main stage had been moved to the Forni building, where late-night shows take place. Kristo texted me... He was giving me a VIP pass! Went in to listen to Mojo Green and talk with Clare for a bit. I love this lady.
The day consisted of a lot of migrating for me: I'd go from one stage to the next, to the camp looking for others and then back to a stage. At one point, I had a long talk with Troy, who's going back to Vietnam in November to dive. He goes twice a year to some region of the world to dive. He gave me the name of a good diving company in Sacramento because I've been wanting to get my scuba certification for most of my life. I had a lot if fun dancing barefoot inside to Dead Winters Carpenter. I also got a lot if comments and pictures taken of the shirt I was wearing (from last year's HH): "Fuck more, bitch less". I figure this is the one place I can wear it to, so I did. I would never dream of wearing it outside a fest (It's a Mike Dillon Band shirt).
At 5 o'clock it was time for the Giants game I sat with Victoria and watch the Giants get their first run but I wanted to also catch some more music so I headed off to see Jeff Austin Bam and I was very impressed and getting to sit in the front or in the VIP section thanks to Kristo and also hearing Danny Barnes play one of my favorite songs. He's from Temple, Texas. I lived outside of Temple very briefly. There's my connection. 😉 I had to go watch my favorite bluegrass band okay-The Brothers Comatose. These guys put on one of the best shows...there was a gorgeous crescent moon lightly shining between dark rain clouds... Ben mentioned it's beauty, then said..."and if you look really closely, you can see Raley's in the distance." Terrific guys.
Giants tied, then a terrific double play-all of the cheering & shouting in that room was amazing. We all watch together and the next few innings were absolutely amazing I was cheering, I was screaming, at one point I stepped in my plate food that was on the floor (thank goodness I had finished the Ghanaian dinner, but still.. barefoot on the plate is kind of gross). I kept knocking over my water bottle because I would jump up and start screaming. I dropped my Mophie for my iPhone. It was very emotional, it was very tense m, it was very nerve-racking. When I was in the coma, I had tubes down my throat because of my collapsed lung & ever since then, I cannot scream the sane and it quickly hurts my throat when I scream, so innings 5-7 killed me. I was exhausted, but 11-4. What a game. I hung out with the folks back at camp... Victoria had dried my shoes in her VW bus somewhat, but they were wet again and I was tired. I'm not doing the Molly, or blow, or weed, or alcohol. My rush is the game and the music. Sad I missed Leftover Salmon, but it's the world series!! Looking forward to a hot bath (which failed as I didn't close the drain all the way and the there was no more hot water), hot tea (it was good), my first night of flannel sheets and a good night's sleep.
Pictures: Viewing the crowds at the Jeff Austin Band after the rains; The results of the rain this morning; These two girls were so excited about their ear protectors, their masks, their musical instruments. They were the cutest thing I saw all day (Dead Winters Carpenter show); My late night tea.
