I woke up – less deader than yesterday morning, but still
somewhat totally-ass exhausted. I think
the finale of school for me is the biggest hurtle. Yes, I still have one more class and I still
will have practicum, but that is simple, compared to what has been done. More coffee (black gold) and a slow gathering
of things. I am SO grateful to Victoria for allowing me
to stay with her…what a beautiful weekend it was. <3
I headed off to explore…home? No, I’ll go to my Mission. I love this area. It’s my favorite SF community. The streets were still relatively quite –
even at 11:30. People were recovering
after a Saturday night in The City. I found a spot on Mission and walked over to
Valencia. I exchanged kind words with a
man…. I have found the sweetest words
from men this weekend, all men I am not drawn to, but whose words are so very
kind and complimentary, nonetheless. Those
men I am attracted to? Nothing. This is a sign, I know.
A lunch at my usual restaurant, some shopping for mother-in-law
and then to the best thrift store in the world.
They support a huge amount of non-profits and have terrific stuff (this
is SF, after all). I found great cardigan
for Maggie, stuff for my sis-in-law and mother, and records for me. I bought a Joe Cocker record, learning he has
passed away as I write this. <very
sad> I drove home. A huge parking lot of cars and I saw/heard
sirens. After 30 minutes or so, as every
one was shifting lanes, I have had my blinker on and am trying to move. A lady
in a huge black SUV honks at me and looks at me like I’m cutting her off. NO, bitch.
I have my goddamn blinker on and
if you LOOK, you can see that people are trying to shift lanes. There was a bit of road rage as I swore and screamed
at her, (she couldn’t see or hear, of course).
She chased me down. We flipped
each other off. It can get totally
dangerous. What I don’t understand is I
had my blinker on…every one there was shifting.
WTF was it with her? It really
angered me for a while. I think by Davis
I had forgiven her, but people like her really irritate me. I try to be so cautious and communicative on
the roads… I had my damn blinker on,
lady.
Winco to buy things to make, to next store to buy tape so
I can wrap. Then home and I unpacked and
got ready to hook up this magic beast of a receiver! Ummm….wait a minute. There’s a whole lot of stuff in the back of
this. I think I could even control a garage door, if I had one. I called L and he tried to talk me through…I’m
not sure how much he could really do, though, unless he was here and he even
said the same thing: “So you want me to
explain how to hook everything up, over the phone, in 5 minutes?” “Yep!!”
Guess records will have to wait
another day. I’m getting closer, though. <grin>
I put on a movie about Sinn Fein ("The Wind That Shakes the Barley")and started wrapping gifts
before the kids get here tomorrow. After
that was over, I installed the Original Mario Brothers (I had ordered original controllers
for the kids for Christmas) and played a bit.
Tomorrow I have my Live Scan for my practicum site. Lots to do, always lots to do….
