Such an interesting typical day at a high school: Pull in to the student parking lot (where I
park) only to see a nice truck with a HUGE dent in the front, I see head of
maintenance and our principal, along with a woman and a student. I find out a few minutes later that
said-student drove said-truck into a light pole, hence the dented-in front
end. During weight lifting, I watch as, every
time a song such as “Turn Down For What” comes on, our three dancers go right
into action and start their dance moves, shimmying and moving hips and arms in
such choreographed perfection. Initially
everyone would stop their weights to watch, but it has somewhat lost its pizazz
now. Later on campus, I heard one of our students threatening another student,
so I called in the troops and we positioned ourselves around the group to avoid
a face pounding. Such fun.
After school, I was told that I really need to brush up my
math skills to help our kids when they have questions. Well, hell.
That sucks. I’ll have to go find a
book that can give me all the hints on how to do this stuff again…ratios,
probabilities…. I don't do math thinking, I do people thought thinking.
Headed home, where I had a lovely daughter waiting for me
with a flower, who showed me to a petal-strewn walkway. Then inside, to a waiting hot dinner (an omelet)
and “Dark Star” by the Dead. The second course was popcorn and water and
two episodes of The Office. After, I needed
to get in my room and I made arrangements for the transport of the bus –
Saturday “or later”…5 minutes later Joe, the seller, called and we spoke for
about 45 minutes. I am SO excited!! It keeps getting better and better, or as we
used to say…”gooder and gooder.”
Pictures: A lovely "driving into our little town at the end of a long day" scene. It looked much better in person; The moon, hiding....
