April 15, 2015

This morning I was on fire thanks to your friend and mine…Sepultura.  That bridge between getting up and sleeping is almost impossible to cross until a few sips (ok, cups) of coffee  and then the band and I are ready to roll.  Day three and my arms feel pumped…I’m not pushing it too hard, though… wouldn’t want to tear all my clothes with my bulky muscles.  I also made the wise decision of listening to the music of someone I knew long, long ago, Phil McCammon and his album, “All Over Me” (it’s on iTunes). After I moshed a bit to Sepultura, I bought Phil’s album and fell in love with it.  This is some good music…check it out.  After I dropped the kids off, the closing song as I pulled into work was Bon Jovi’s "Bad Medicine".  GET THIS:  After work, I turned on the car – SAME SONG AT ABOUT THE SAME PART of the song as I had left this morning.  Trippy, right?

During school, out on the field, I remembered good old Mrs. Wheelock from Goddard Junior High.  This woman was a stout black woman with curly hair and glasses and the coolest long fingernails I have ever seen.  Her nails were beautiful – often with peach nail polish.  I wishwishwish Mrs. Wheelock were here to get this kids into shape.  Lawdamighty....  She woulda NEVER have allowed such behavior on the field as our coach.

It came to my attention that I had yet another clothing malfunction – and this was after asking my children if everything was in order.  I noticed, during a visit to the ladies room, that my shirt, which looks fine from my viewpoint, is essentially see-through in the right lighting.  Black bra there for all to see.  I need help.

I headed to The Kid's School to watch The Girl during her practice.  I will not be able to make it to tomorrow’s track meet (held at my workplace on the track I’m on every day), so I told her I’d cheer her on this way.  It was nice to sit there and watch her while I helped Ethan a bit with his homework.  Soon, I’ll be able to hang out with my kids and support them at their games and meets and school events.

At home, Ethan and I got to homework.  I’m close to finishing up my
4th section of The Big Paper, but kept being distracted by this kid named Ethan.  Actually, it was Google…we’d talk about things (for example,  he brought up WW2 and the sinking of the USS Indianapolis <which made me think of my friend Dorothy’s dad Bruce!!!> and then we spoke of politics <the cold war> , then I showed him Puerto Rico and the zip line, then I showed him what the baby I had in my dream when I was 6 looked like.  Her name was Noodles and she looked like a pre-cabbage patch kid who walked and talked as soon as I gave birth, then we talked about sirens in Europe and I showed him how they sounded <via youtube>…then we talked about Klosters and I showed him the Gotchna Bahn and my sweet Gaudy’s Grasströchni.  Then Maggie came in and sang for us and I was dazzled by her amazing voice.  I need to get this kid some singing lessons, absolutely.  A voice so beautiful should be trained so when we both learn how to play guitars, we are ready.  How in the hell did I manage to get my paper <mostly>done?  The most exciting part???  We looked up his coin again, the umpteenth time in years and FOUND IT!!!!  It isn’t Ancient Greek or Roman, it’s pre-Roman Britain and the king Conubelin, who ruled from late AD to about 40BC.  How very exciting!!!!  We need to get that sucker insured, asap.

Pictures:  This morning, I found Inuit Dude chilling in his native habitat.  He looked pretty damn happy; My girl, running like the wind at her track pre-meet; A pencil made from recycled papers that Ethan was using his homework while we watched Mags.
