Morning time happens fairly regularly and I suppose I am grateful
for that. Again there was a desire to accomplish much in a change-my-life-completely
kind of way. Such thoughts add a high
expectation.
The first idea was to clean and organize. I find that I am dreadful at both. The cleaning is mundane, the organizing is…a
fantasy. In reality, I end up folding
and re-placing. What good is that?
I did get a lot thrown away in my file cabinet and may have accomplished
a bit there, but it feels under-executioned <new word!!>
I filed my taxes!!
Finally was given the K1 schedule and so Uncle Sam got his stuff. At one point I was concerned about getting it
done correctly and so I contacted Conrad – he was at a jam session, however, so
I went ahead and did what I could.
Later, he promised he, Anne and T would come visit me in the federal pen
if and when my impatience is disapproved of by the IRS. He assures me the federal penitentiary is
pretty nice.
Fortunately after the
long-ish midday tax filing break, I was re-energized and jumped into a
re-going-through (which was a sorting of sorts…sale stuff here, trash stuff
there, re-placed stuff in its place).
Lots of “re” done tonight. I went
through lots of old stuff that I have held on to for decades (no, I cannot throw away my pencil box from 2nd
grade with the rad cupcake smelly stickers inside). I found maps of swimming adventures in our
pool. Sweet god, I miss that house! Glad, in a way, my mom sold it before the
kids were born…I would have never heard the end of it. I did have
a glorious childhood being able to experience so many wonderful things. I may not have the finances my parents had,
but I do hope I show my children my love for them in trying to treat them to as
many adventures as I can. I decided
tonight that I am going to get the three of us PADI certified for SCUBA so we
can go dive in Costa Rica. Snorkeling is
nice, but I want to really experience these incredible coral reefs. I’m excited.
My evening included bottling up my second batch of kombucha
and making more tea, signing along to Ian Moore, Anders Osborne and the Avett
Brothers. I accidentally on purpose ate the
pecan roll and peanut brittle I got for my exmominlaw in Texas, but I figured
it was so many months old that really it was more of a favor I did for her and
she is quite welcome. Tomorrow the “plan”
is to write up a case study. I have plenty
of clients to choose from, so I might as well begin. I’m excited for summer…my
late nights have already begun.
