Something I forgot to mention yesterday was a mini reunion of CMP kids. It amazed me because not so long ago, I had taught many of these kids. Some of them into the 2/3 class, others even younger, One child had barely started walking when I first saw him. I was interviewing his mom to watch Ethan in her home daycare when he was was maybe 9 months old. Now this boy is in high school and Ethan started junior high. <Cue Steve Miller Band: "Time keeps on slipping... into the future....">
Thing that teaspoon or so of butter in my coffee kept me very alert today. It wasn't so much about that, though, I just loved the taste of the Irish butter. Work went well, it just seems that some relationships are starting to grow while relationships that exist are dwindling. Ebb and flow. I'm either hyper sensitive or hallucinating.
I miss seeing men in suits. Those were some of my favorite memories: when I was a child, my father dressed so nicely. He always wore aftershave...I miss that. Today I was lucky enough to see a man in a suit riding his bicycle to the Natomas Lake bike path. It was beautiful.
School was amazing. There are so many fantastic service is available in Placer County. Here in El Dorado County, we obviously have some, yet nothing as integrated is Placer County. It was *strongly* suggested that I get licensed after I finish the degree (only 3 more classes, plus 48 years of practicum til I complete my hours!!! I should finish before I hit my 80s and then I only have 3,000 hours til I can take my exam!). Our professor gave me an amazing set of resources to use with my kids in ED. I was speechless. I better double check with her tomorrow and make sure it isn't a loaner. PLUS!!! We know the same woman..though she knows her professionally and I know her from doing a sweat lodge with her and her husband (they are Native Americans).
Today is the 13th anniversary such a very somber day in American history and despite all of the news that I watched in the days following, I never saw people jumping out of windows or hanging out of the windows waving frantically, desperately, until this morning. I often think about that day and how it altered lives on Earth. Never forget, yet Life continues.
Pictures: Am I the only one who sees that or...? Prepping the field for the first home game; Making salad. Again.
