April 13, 2015

I HATE Mondays…worse now than anytime I can remember.  It means a whole other week…and I am dying for some break time….  I managed to get groggily up, though, and after some coffee, got to the row machine with some Testament.  I still remember this album word for word.  I even remember doing one of the songs, “Perilous Nation” as an assembly performance at Selwyn Preparatory School my senior year in high school – yes, I was that cool.

After work, I went to pick up Ethan – Maggie had called me at work and said she was going to track practice with a friend. He looked so grown-up!!!  He had an appointment at the dentist to have his last remaining baby tooth pulled and two cavities filled.  As he was having that done, I sat in the front room and worked on a “Jar of Feelings” for clients.  It’s a kick-starter for helping identify and talk about different feeling kids might be having.  I also am going to bring in a bunch of magazines so we can make collages.  For my personal hours, I am going to participate in art therapy, which I can learn techniques from to use with clients, also.  My supervisor and boss suggested this and I think it’s a terrific idea for getting the most bang for my buck.

After the appointment, Ethan and I headed home, as I had to do a quick turn-around for class.  He was the most adorable thing, trying so hard to correctly pronounce word but unable to feel most of his lower face.  I should have filmed it.  I got him a shake at In-‘n-Out and then dropped him off.  At school, Wendy waited for me so she could give me a magazine she’d received that was “right up my alley” – Rolling Stone with Kurt Cobain on the front.  Awesome.  I wish my black Kurt Converse were men’s 7, which is what my brown Converse are and they are really comfortable.  The black ones are women’s 9 and are irritating.

Class was interesting for the most part. I absolutely love my professor and will miss this person tremendously when class is over next week.  One of the students in the classroom, however…oh, lordy.  And that’s all I will say there.

Ethan was fine when I got home.  The only ache was the site from the numbing injection.  I hate that, too.  I am having sympathy numbing pains in my jaw for him.   The kids and I watched some Dwight Schrute clips together.  We love him and want to be him.  Maggie and I do, anyway…  Oh man, help us all.

Pictures: My papers with feelings for my "Jar of Feelings";  Stretching; Giant's home opener!!  Ok, so I hear it didn't go so well.  Still 156 games left, plus, it's an odd year.  <smile>
