April 7, 2015

I don’t even remember the alarm going off, but I know it must have, because I stood up, rubbing my  eyes, hair sticking all over the place like it did back in the days of drunken escapades and being confused as to why Spring Break had severed our relationship.  I proddled (new word!) into to the kitchen, but somehow my coffee wasn’t ready (though the crock pot of split pea soup was), so I had to Push The Button.  Proddled back into bed, with an aching back <grumble, grumble, I’m so old> and read mail.  I had received three Dropbox “mix tapes” of “mullet” music from a gentleman who is quite the bubbling fountain of knowledge on musical history and sound(seriously - this guy KNOWS music, professionally).  Hell, yeah! The fact that he loves mullet music makes him a genius and me right.

Coffee was ready…I was on fire, because anytime I get music like this…wow.  Lots of great tunes…now to get them to CD.  Then…sad news.  My godmother is undergoing surgery for cancer.  Hope to hear good news  later.  I got busy with the row machine and some System of a Down, then Linkin Park.  Good “Pump-You-Up”  music.    Headed to work a little early to drop off a baby gift for a teacher and then…into class I go.  New student.  And…let it flow….

<fill in stuff about school>  And the day has ended!!!  Wow! 36 days on the calendar!   My neighbor honked in my driveway to follow me as I brought  my sweet sick  Little Lizzie Mae to the Real Mechanic – the one I was told about from the get-go,   the one I initially had an appointment with.  May I tell you how fetching my neighbor  looked?  Simply gorgeous.  Lizzie puttered along to the mechanic and slide into one of the parking spaces.  I put the orange plastic (the one I save from Swiss Air last January) over the opening in the window to protect it from the rain (the window regulator is in and I need to go pick it up tomorrow).  Here is the Deal:  The tow company KNEW where they should have brought Lizzie – they KNEW. Instead, they brought me where they brought me (and don’t get me wrong, Mike is a VERY nice guy) but he has only been there <gasp> 4 months and doesn’t know VWs .  Seriously.  Holy shit. So, GAW guy was kinda pissed and I am also a bit perturbed.  We will see what happens.  All in all, a learning experience, indeed.

So home..to work on homework – I have four projects: two big ones, 2 minor ones, plus other stuff.  3 more weeks, but really only two more classes. Hell, April is a quarter of the way over and today was work day one.  Not too shabby.

I have no wise words to close with.  I miss Dwight Schrute, so I will leave you with some of his wisdom:

“I saw Wedding Crashers accidentally. I bought a ticket for “Grizzly Man” and went into the wrong theater. After an hour, I figured I was in the wrong theater, but I kept waiting. Cuz that’s the thing about bear attacks… they come when you least expect it.”

Pictures:  Her new(er) temporary home.  I'm a little sad, but I know this is the place she belongs to get well; Another vegan wishbone; The hauntings of math - it DOESN'T go away...I never thought I'd have to use it and here I am, trying to explain it to kids that yes, if they say they will NEVER use this, they'll end up teaching it to kids 25 years later.  It's bad karma: I love it.
