Dead. That’s how I
woke up. Even though I went to bed two
hours earlier last night (2:30) and I slept solidly, I was still dead. I am somewhat disheartened that the children,
Neomi, Georgia, Jack and Dean would see me every morning, waking up totally unhungover, looking far worse than the
rest of the camp.
My body was hurting and hurting badly, but then Midnight North went on and that damn body of mine
started responding. Such good
sound! After, George Michael sound-alike
(to me) Bart Davenport played and again, I danced and had fun with Michelle, as
I misheard all of the lyrics and essentially created an entirely differently songs.
The rest of the shows were like that, too. Despite being sooo tired from the weekend, I
still danced my ass off. Elisa Randazzo
played songs that completely undid me. I
went through so many life-altering moments, rethinking about aspects of myself
that could use improvements, etc. It was
such a profound set. I thanked her
afterwards. The Brothers Comatose had me
twirling and dancing again, too. New
songs for a new album were incredible and the best news is that Gio Benedetti
is BACK! Thrilled to see this as I have
missed his presence in the band (as has Maggie). It was heartbreaking to hear the last song (Bad
Moon Rising) because it meant another year was over. Withing an hour or two, everyone was pulling
out, including the assholes who parked in front of the MH banner, so we did
pictures! Initially facing backwards, of course,
but who cares!!!! So much fun! We were treated to a little moon shot from Ricky and Life Was Good.
The Brothers Comatose bus came by and stopped in front of my
Lizzie. Gio yelled out for me and I went
over, telling him how thrilled I was
that he was back. These guys are so
personable and really good people, which makes them an even more incredible band. More goodbyes were said as the camp cleared
out. We hung out at the fire, then I
headed over for a looonnnggg talk with Cheri.
She is such a sweet woman. Tired
beyond belief, I was somehow convinced to go upstairs one last time with the
Site 9 crew, where Jarrod bought me a bottle of soda water. Suddenly there was Betsy in a giraffe
onesy!! Just like Be Loose had promised
the night before. I’ll catch up with him
and Gypsy somewhere…maybe. <smile>.
Down to the camp at Site 9 for one last night – hilarious conversations
regarding a Who cover band called What, baby pudding and the paleo dieters only
eating dinosaurs. I was on it with note
taking and have to say, for someone who is sober, I sure as hell have a great
time, especially to Willie Nelson Reggae.
