July 18, 2015

I awoke confused - I always do when I am home from a trip.  I had slept nicely, though, the sheets feeling so good and reunited with my pillows.  I was surprised to see Ethan was already up - he had gotten up at 7, he told me.

I was still spinning.  The alcohol hadn't helped and neither had a few days of  sleep.  I would buy some antihistamines and if that didn't clear it up, I would see the doctor.  I sat in bed and started posting.  I had also read that antihistamines and bed rest (??  really?  why?) would help dizziness.  I was concerned about barotrauma from clearing to forcefully when we were descending on one of the dives, but time would tell.

L came to pick up the kids around noon.  I was sad - my tribe was gone.  I know how important it is that they are with their dad and I know that sometimes they drive me absolutely bonkers, but I love those kids.

I took a short nap later and went to go pick up some food.  I had a list of healthy item - I've eaten well for the last 9 days, I want to keep it up.  I am concerned about the foods here - I've noticed a tremendous difference in the 24 hours I've been back in the US.  Yes, it's difficult, but I'm trying to say "No" to nachos.  I also bought some Benadryl to help with the dizziness.

Long day-  lots of writing, lots of rest.  I've taken 3 Benadryl so far and it seems to help.  Here's hoping.  Something amazing happened today - through a group on Facebook about my hometown, I was able to post about a house I saw as a little girl - it was adobe or plaster - and it had the silhouette a a man on the side.  Well, I asked about it and the children who used to live in that house answered - it was just a series of repairs which happened to look like a figure, but what an amazing story!  The mystery house I was so fascinated by was finally answered!

Pictures:  Rose hips and drought kale - no, it isn't a new band, it's the state of my garden
